PAI Plastic Sheet & Rod

Polyamide-imides (PAI) are either thermosetting or thermoplastic, amorphous polymers that have exceptional mechanical, thermal and chemical resistant properties. Polyamide-imides are used extensively as wire coatings in making magnet wire. They are prepared from isocyanates and TMA (trimellic acid-anhydride) in n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP).Polyamide-imides display a combination of properties from both polyamides and polyimides, such as high strength, melt processibility, exceptional high heat capability, and broad chemical resistance. Polyamideimides PAI Sheet, PAI Rod and PAI Parts.

Feature

Very high maximum allowable service temperature in air (250°C continuously)
Excellent retention of mechanical strength, stiffness and creep resistance over a wide range of temperatures
Extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion up to 250°C
Excellent wear and frictional behaviour (particularly Duratron 4301 PAI)
Inherent low flammability
Exceptional resistance against high energy radiation (gamma & X-rays)
Excellent UV-resistance
Duratron PAI (Torlon) Technical Notes

Because of its intrinsic high temperature resistance, high dimensional stability and good machinability, this extruded grade is very popular for precision parts in high-tech equipment. In addition, its good electrical insulating ability provides numerous possibilities in the field of electrical components such as connectors, switches, relays, ball bearings and rollers.
